I spent the weekend recharging the batteries, and today I worked nonstop on “the knitting purse”:http://karissacove.com/journal/category/the-knitters-purse/ — I made a lot of progress, too!
I forget some times how important it is to take breaks, and I really needed the time I took just to feel like I could tackle everything that needs to be done.
Lots of updates tomorrow!
Just a quick note, I just posted two new items up on “Etsy”:http://karissacove.etsy.com:

I was going through my stats and found out it’s possible to “subscribe to my site from LiveJournal”:http://www.livejournal.com/friends/add.bml?user=karissacove so that it shows up on your Friends list.
Comments that are left on my site aren’t included, but I still thought it was pretty neat. :)
We’re still plugging away on the new site and it’s starting to look great, too bad everything always takes longer than you expect. All of my customers are going to be using the same site, including my wholesalers, so it’s sorta complicated and has to be done right.
In the meantime, just for fun, I’ll be posting some “handmade items on Etsy”:http://karissacove.etsy.com. I have so many prototype purses and ideas that I wanted to try out but never ended up selling.
The first item up is the “FUN FUN FUN purse”:http://www.etsy.com/view_item.php?listing_id=196761:

This handbag was a prototype for my “Sweetheart Tote”:http://karissacove.com/etsy/sweetheart.jpg, and was before I had a final design — FUN FUN FUN was the first thing that popped into my head. It has my old “Crackers + Honey”:http://crackersandhoney.com tag and is completely one of a kind!
My friend Katie had a Nintendo themed birthday party and it was a super-blast, to say the least! We did it all, played “Mario Dance Dance Revolution”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR_Mario_Mix, visited each other’s towns in “Animal Crossing”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_crossing_wild_world, ate cupcakes frosted like “power up” mushrooms, and we even watched “The Wizard”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wizard_%28film%29.
In keeping with the theme of the party, I made Katie a clutch/pouch for her Nintendo DS. I ended up using some of the “vintage fabric”:http://karissacove.com/journal/2006/03/15/vintage-fabric-ripoff/ that I bought last month:

It turned out great, so well I’m going to make one for myself!
