I needed clear skies for I Heart to Knit Tote photos, and this morning I finally got the chance. I knew the forecast called for rain in the afternoon, so I quickly snapped as many photos of the totes as possible and crossed my fingers that most shots wouldn’t need retakes.

Knitting Toes

Luckily, I was just wrapping up the last of the action shots when the rain started to lightly sprinkle down.

Over the weekend, I’ll be processing the photos and getting the totes ready to post on “Etsy”:http://karissacove.etsy.com.

I (heart) to Knit Totes Now Available! http://crackersandhoney.com/2006/08/15/i-heart-to-knit-totes-now-available/ http://crackersandhoney.com/2006/08/15/i-heart-to-knit-totes-now-available/#comments Wed, 16 Aug 2006 02:15:35 +0000 http://dev.krewdesign.com/kc/cms/?p=101 My life’s been so jam packed with sewing + working + fun + parties
that I don’t feel like I have my head on straight. Summer’s almost over though, and I’m happy to finally be getting everything in order.

So, without further ado, I’m releasing the first batch of my I (heart) to Knit Totes, which are now available in three colours and for sale on Etsy! OMG, finally!

These totes have been made to help keep knitters organized and cute as a button! They have a variety of inside pockets to keep all your notions, patterns + yarn organized, and there’s loops to feed your yarn through so it doesn’t get tangled. They’re perfect for knitting at home or on the go, I’ve been using one for months and it’s like a little knitting buddy!

Basically, all that’s left is sewing the fronts and backs together and they’ll be all done.

Pickin’ Fabrics http://crackersandhoney.com/2006/06/21/pickin-fabrics/ http://crackersandhoney.com/2006/06/21/pickin-fabrics/#comments Thu, 22 Jun 2006 02:31:19 +0000 http://dev.krewdesign.com/kc/cms/?p=82 I spent the afternoon playing around with mixing and matching fabrics for the “I heart to Knit tote”:http://karissacove.com/journal/2006/06/05/the-i-heart-to-knit-tote/ letters:

Table of Fabric

I love going through all of my different fabrics and matching them up — it’s like making a quilt, only less intense!

I only have one item left on “Etsy”:http://www.karissacove.etsy.com! EEEKKK! I rummaged through some more older stock and prototypes and found a few more goodies that I’ll put up later this week.

I cut out the pieces today:

It just seems to suit the look better. I made it up this morning:

I (heart) to knit Tote

I bought some sorbet-pastel coloured fabric for these totes yesterday, and I’ll be dipping into my vintage fabric stash for the words. I think it’s too cute!

It was hard getting all the letters just right, but I like the way it turned out:

I did manage to get some sun and took this pics of my finished knitting roll-up:

It’s just a simple pocket, and it’s going to come with the “White Knitter’s Purse”:http://karissacove.com/journal/2006/05/20/the-white-knitters-purse/. I’m just finishing up the touches on the matching needle roll-up, and should have some photos tomorrow.

The White Knitter’s Purse http://crackersandhoney.com/2006/05/20/the-white-knitters-purse/ http://crackersandhoney.com/2006/05/20/the-white-knitters-purse/#comments Sat, 20 May 2006 19:49:40 +0000 http://dev.krewdesign.com/kc/cms/?p=42 I’ve wanted to post photos of the first finished Knitter’s purse for a couple days, and today the weather finally cooperated:

The White Knitter's Purse

The purse pattern is done, I’m really happy with the inside layout and the dimensions. All that’s left is to get a few more designs ready. This is what the inside looks like:

White Knitter's Purse Inside 1

I’ve put the needle pocket on a slant so that the purse doesn’t have to be super-extra huge. I love this feature, easy access to extra needles is so fab!

White Knitter's Purse Inside 2

The three little pockets on the opposite side are perfect for circular needles and scissors, but could just as easily fit an iPod and a cellphone. The little loops are really handy for keeping your yarn from getting in the way.

White Knitter's Purse Inside 3

There’s a lot of room in this purse for almost any size project — I’m so happy with the way the finished product turned out. It really is handy to carry knitting in, it’s not gimmicky at all.

I’ve also finished the matching notion pouch, photos of that tomorrow!

Knitting Purse Colours

Knitting Purse Colours Closeup

I chose to tone down the colours, and put it on white instead of denim. I think it looks really preppy, and will be perfect for spring.

I’ve got the bag all finished up, and will post some pics tomorrow. I can’t wait to carry my knitting around!

Scallops of fabric in shades of aqua, turquoise and lime. A extemely rough idea that I’m not 100% sure I like. I’m not sure it’s my style…

I usually draw out the designs before I get out the fabric, but I actually made this as a “fabric prototype”:http://karissacove.com/journal/2006/04/11/the-fabric-experiment/ before drawing this.

As you can see, I’m still playing around with this idea. I love the concept of having woven fabric strips on a knitting bag, it just makes sense to me.
